what an interesting review! i’ve never heard of kaeng raeng smoothie cleanse before, but it definitely seems like something that would appeal to lots of people that need a little help getting back on track with their health and nutrition.

back when i had LOTS of digestive problems(ie- when i was still eating gluten), i would go through periods of REALLY needing a cleanse. at one point i was at a loss for what to do so i got something online called master cleanse or something like that, which was between $70-$80. there were three different pills that i took several times a day(i think one of the pills you had to take 7-3 times a day!). but you know what? it cleansed me and that’s all that matters πŸ˜‰

Do these have enough calories to fulfill somebody’s caloric needs in a day? Pretty much every nutritionist I’ve seen says a person should go below 1200 — this is the main reason that I haven’t considered a juice cleanse. I feel like I wouldn’t be getting enough food!

I’ve never tried any sort of cleanse, but this one seems like a great one for curious / beginners like me…I’m buying my 3 day as soon I post this. Thank you so much for the in-depth review & info!

    Good morning lovely Amber,

I loved reading this post this morning. Awesome. I’ve never heard of this product, but I love how they have made it so easy for folks. So smart. I’m going to hop on over to their site and check it all out! Thanks.

    Have a great weekend.

P.S. How ARE you feeling these days?

Does this cleanse let the organs relax while your cleaning the digestive and/or colon, like the master cleanse does. Do you use the sea salt flush in the morning and the smooth tea at night, to be sure to empty all out? Is this recommended for diabetics? thank you

Awww man…I’m bummed. I was very excited until I saw soy. I am one of those who goes crazy with soy (seriously…it is like gluten to a Celiac for me, except it drops my thyroid and spikes my estrogen). That’s very interesting that it’s something that doesn’t upset your thyroid and the auto-immune condition. Just goes to show that this is why it can be so tricky to treat hormone and auto-immune issues in various people. None of our bodies react the same. But, for someone who can tolerate the soy, this sounds like an easy cleanse to do. Just plus in fresh fruits and veggies in between, and you’re ready to go.
I think other than the Master Cleanse, which only lasted 7 days for me and should have been 10, I’ve never done a juice cleanse. Now I’ve had periods where I’ll only have juice in the morning and no actual food until later, but I don’t know if I could stay satisfied on it. I have done mini smoothie cleanses, three days max maybe. (This was when I still enjoyed whey protein, and it was SO filling and yummy, but then I learned is was causing mucus build-up in my body and had to give it up.) And then 2 smoothies in the first part of the day and then maybe a light light of steamed veggies. I noticed when my body has less to digest, I have much more energy…but then my liver starts to dump and I get angry over not being able to chew anything, lol. But that’s just something some of us gotta work through on any cleanse.

A juice cleanse sounds great with all of this nasty hot weather we’ve been having. Juicy July, indeed! (Especially in KC, Amber–I heard that it’s been over 100 degrees!?!!) I have never heard of this cleanse. Though I don’t live under a rock, it’d be a nice, cool place to hang out on a hot day like today!
Did you do anything special for your b-day???

  9. Bianca- Vegan Crunk

I don’t know if I could do a smoothie for every meal for 3 days. I’d get bored (and hungry!) after the first day. When I did juice fasts during the Crazy Sexy Diet, I was pretty sure I was dying of hunger the whole time. But these sound like they’d be great for a snack. πŸ™‚

Could this post be any more timely? I’ve been reading about several cleanses to do in my time between heading to Oklahoma to visit the grandparents (which, being typical midwestern grandparents, involves undoing every speck of good diet behavior I’ve built up!) and heading to Utah to climb a mountain. Also, I don’t want to do any grocery shopping between two rounds of 7+ days out of town. Also also, it’s too flipping hot to cook!

Anyway, this looks like it fits the bill pretty well. I’m not big on super-structured systems (and with my work schedule, it would be near-impossible to stick to something like Master Cleanse). I ordered the 6-day beginner to get myself ready for the climbing of the mountain :), and thanks to your code saved $20 (woohoo!). I get back from Oklahoma on a Tuesday, and fly out to Provo the following Monday, so this is perfect! I’m also hoping this will help me avoid some altitude sickness (another reason I was looking for a detox system). *fingers crossed*

I just ordered a sample pack to try before I make the investment. I’ve never done a “real” juice cleanse because I always get nervous about not eating enough. I’m pretty active and I have a tendency towards hypoglycemia. This sounds great since you can have unlimited raw fruits and veggies. Thank you for this review, Amber. I had never heard of this!!!

  12. Heather

I guess I’ve been living under a rock! lol. Never heard of this stuff but sounds great and Im sure I’d enjoy. Yup, done both smoothie and juice fasts, not in quite a while though.

  13. Jenna

I’ve alway’s wanted to do a juice or smoothie cleanse but have just never gotten around to do one. This one seems interesting. I might give it a shot. $18 a day is very reasonable!

Try as I might, I can’t get past the way psyllium husk mixes with liquid into a gloopy mucus texture. Flax or chia for me, baby! Although I’m guessing that these smoothies don’t, in fact, turn out like enormous glasses of mucus, so Kaeng Raeng must have some magical de-gloopifying technique.

I’d definitely lose weight if I was asked to drink mucus, though. I just thought you should know that.

nice. i had looked into it, but it’s good to hear a review from a hungry person! : )

As usual, I love your reviews! I ordered my kaeng raeng and it came yesterday. Planning on doing my 3-day cleanse starting Monday – looking forward to it. Thanks for keeping me up to date on all the latest and greatest products in the health world!

Just finished my 3 day cleanse (Master). It was much easier and more filling than I thought it would be. Thanks so much for recommending it and giving the discount code!

This detox is wonder. I just completed the 6 day basic detox cleansed and I loved you. The first day was a bit hard due to adjusting my body to eating healthy and consuming less food. By the 2nd day I was in love. My body felt super healthy and I experienced so much peace and goodness during the cleanse. I lost about 7 pounds. I would recommend this to anyone looking to detox and change their way of eating.

    Hello Amber,

I have been following your FB page for a while now and saw your post about the KR cleanse/detox program. I was immediately interested because I am having many digestive issues and thought this would be gentle way to cleanse and get a fresh start while waiting to see a gastro specialist. I didn’t want to go too harsh with something like a Master Cleanse. Maybe I would feel better in the interim.

I purchased the 6 day beginner program last week and am on the second day. I am a huge fan of fruits and veggies and definitely loved the options described with this program. The first day I thought I’d be ravenous but that was totally not the case. I ate a few fresh veggies with my evening smoothie and just added some fruits to each smoothie. I chose to add the fruits specific to each smoothie. And, if you make the smoothies with the low end of the recommended amount of water (24 oz) they are holy-cow filling. Took me a couple of hours to drink the entire thing. They are quite substantial so I couldn’t chug it down.

The one thing that is a little tough for me is that I travel 4 days a week for a living and stay in a hotel. While packing 12 of the packet of mix is a breeze being able to use a blender to mix with water, ice and some fruit is a bit tricky. I ended up buying a handheld stick blender and a simple pitcher to use in my hotel room and the office. I just pour the smoothie from the pitcher into a reusable bottle. Luckily, I also have a refrigerator with a freezer at the office and in my hotel room to keep the produce I purchased. BTW – I found frozen peaches and frozen mango chunks at Whole Foods. Really makes the Day Break smoothie tasty.

Anyway – a lengthy post to say thanks for posting about KR and so far, so good for me. And, hopefully a helpful tip to those who travel.

A girlfriend and I were talking about how we needed to do a bit of a body re-boot as she is off to the Bahamas in August (yes… I know, I’m jealous too) and I am just feeling ‘off’! We ordered yesterday and can’t wait to try it, I’ll let you know how it goes! (we both got the 6 day veteran as we have cleansed before). Loving your Juicy July and all your reviews… wish we could get some stuff to Canada though.

I’m so excited…I just placed an order (and thanks for the discount!). I just couldn’t wait for your next two reviews (I have an impatient streak in me). I like the portability – and the lack of fridge space needed…which I have a hard enough time with anyway. I’ll let you know how it goes!
